How we work together

Tailored coaching to strengthen your craft, nurture your process, and build a resilient practice you can trust, even when it's hard.

With an intuitive sense for story, I blend industry insight with practical tools and a deep care for the human experience.

Over the years, I’ve worked with writers at every stage — from students to NYT bestselling authors to Academy Award-nominated screenwriters. What I've learned is: everyone wrestles with the messy middle.

Wherever you are in your journey, my time-tested process helps you untangle ideas and get to the heart of what matters most.

The Three Core Pillars

Craft, process, and resilience are at the heart of my coaching, making our work together practical and transformative.

Writing notes

Strengthen Your Craft

Together, we’ll clarify your ideas, deepen your characters, refine your structure, and boost your confidence as a storyteller, without compromising your voice or vision.

Sticky Notes on a wall

Nurture Your Process

By making space for play, experimentation, and the messy middle, we'll work on navigating doubt, trusting your intuition, and developing tools to address blocks and burnout.

Build Creative Resilience

We’ll create a rhythm that fits your life, so you can keep returning to the page, even when things get hard. You’ll build practices you can turn to long after we’re done — so your writing isn't just doable, but sustainable, meaningful, and alive.

Myths

Before we dive into what this looks like, let's name the myths that get in our way

The myths of the “real writer” fill our heads with imposter syndrome, insecurities, and doubts, leaving less — or even no — room for our ideas to grow. We’ve all been here (myself included), but we don't have to stay here. Letting go of these opens up space for creativity, curiosity, and real momentum to flourish.

Myth 1: "Real Writers" write entirely solo

"Real writers" write entirely solo.

Community isn’t a shortcut.

It’s part of the process.

Editors, coaches, colleagues, and loved ones offer reassurance, perspective, feedback, and accountability. Most writers don't write alone. You don't have to either.

Myth 2: "Real writers" write hours on end. Every. Single. Day.

"Real writers" write hours on end. Every. Single. Day.

Writing has to fit with your real life and real responsibilities.

Whether that’s work, caregiving, or simply needing rest, your writing practice should meet you where you are. It's about creating a consistent rhythm you can return to for the long run.

Myth 3: "Real writers" write effortlessly and naturally.

"Real writers" write effortlessly and naturally.

Effort doesn't mean you're failing.

It means you're trying.

Sometimes it flows and sparkles; sometimes it’s frustrating, awkward, or uncomfortable. Writing is a practice, and practice takes, well... practice. Showing up — especially on the hard days — is how you build routine, resilience, and real progress.

So how do we

Here's what it looks like

when we work together,

step by step:

move past them?

The Brave, Messy Process

While every project is different, we won't be winging it. With practical exercises, tailored feedback, and collaborative creative guidance, we'll move through the Three Pillars — Craft, Process, and Resilience — at every phase of your work.

Development

Phase 1:

Create a Robust Foundation

This is a time for play, curiosity, and exploration. We’ll clarify your project’s core ideas, shape your characters, outline in a way that aligns with your plotting style, and set a roadmap that feels exciting and achievable before you even hit the page. To support you here, I curate development worksheets, freewriting prompts, and personalized exercises designed to spark creativity, boost confidence, and work through early obstacles.

Drafting

Phase 2:

Build Strength and Confidence

In this phase, we focus on progress, not perfection. This is where creative resilience really comes into play — showing up even when it’s messy, grueling, or frustrating. We’ll meet regularly to troubleshoot your process, set achievable next steps, and gently build the muscles that'll keep you writing. I’ll help track growth, celebrate wins (big and small), and make sure your routine fits your life. The goal is simple: get your thoughts down — and finally type those exhilarating words, “The End.”

Distill & Deepen

Phase 3:

Refine and Align Your Work

Revision is where we shape the raw material into something you’re proud of. With fresh eyes and renewed energy, we’ll dive into feedback, organize what’s working, and sculpt the draft into its strongest form. I’ll guide you through the process of big-to-small-picture edits, with a focus on deepening character arcs and clarifying structure. By the final draft, your writing won't just be finished — it will feel meaningful, alive, and deeply yours.

Support that meets you where you are.

Whether you’re struggling to shape your ideas, feeling stuck in the middle, searching for the structure to finish, or simply craving thoughtful feedback and support, you’re not alone. The journey to a finished draft takes more than just discipline. It takes support, accountability, and a trusted partner in the work.

Are you...

Working on a narrative project?
That includes short- or long-form fiction, memoir, or screenplays. If your project is rooted in story and character, you're in the right place.

Sitting on an idea or draft?
I work with writers of all levels who are at any stage of the process, whether you’re just beginning, need a push to reach "The End," or are deep in revision.

Balancing your writing with real life?

Together, we build focused momentum and meaningful progress — without burning out.
